USATODAY.com - 18,000 deaths blamed on lack of insurance

This is terrible. That's almost double the population of the small town of Vermillion being wiped out annually. America is a strange place. Greedy doctors and hospitals and medical companies take won't take care of someone who doesn't have enough money or insurance. Isn't there an oath to help people somewhere...hmmm.

Bye-Bye, Incandescent Bulb?, Global Warming Concerns Push Talk About Phasing Out Edison's Common Bulb - CBS News

Now it's about damn time! The light bulb we know today is 128 YEARS old. Countries all over the world are planning on phasing them out, but what I find interesting is the people looking to keep the incandescent bulb alive - General Electric. Go figure.

"But the venerable incandescent may have life in it yet. General Electric Co. said Friday that by 2010 it would make an incandescent bulb twice as efficient as today's – and by 2012 produce one that is four times more efficient, on par with CFLs."

So they think that in 3 years they can make the bulb 2x more efficient. While TODAY the florescent bulb is 25x more efficient...that's pretty simple math.

Now let's get a player that doesn't cost $500 or require my very noisy Xbox 360 to be running.
