It's official:"Halo 3" Registers Biggest Day in US Entertainment History - Xbox Live's Major Nelson : "Xbox 360 Exclusive “Halo 3” Registers Biggest Day in US Entertainment History with $170 Million in Sales Microsoft today announced that the Xbox 360 exclusive game “Halo 3” has officially become the biggest entertainment launch in history, garnering an estimated $170 million in sales in the United States alone in the first 24 hours. The Xbox 360 title beat previous records set by blockbuster theatrical releases like “Spider-man 3” and novels such as “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”"

Pretty cool. It's a great game. I finished the fight on Heroic with a friend after about 1 day. I'm really looking forward to going through it again and have already dug into the multiplayer. I just wish I didn't have to go to work....

Apple Sells One Millionth iPhone

Apple - Hot News: "Yesterday, just 74 days after its introduction on June 29, Apple sold the one millionth iPhone. “One million iPhones in 74 days—it took almost two years to achieve this milestone with iPod,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We can’t wait to get this revolutionary product into the hands of even more customers this holiday season.” [Sep 10, 2007]"

Here's a big surprise. Huge price drop = spur in sales.

To all iPhone customers

Apple - To all iPhone customers
I figured since I blogged about it yesterday that I should keep my news up to date. Steve Jobs published an open letter saying...

"Therefore, we have decided to offer every iPhone customer who purchased an iPhone from either Apple or AT&T, and who is not receiving a rebate or any other consideration, a $100 store credit towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store."

Fair enough I suppose. I did kind of want a new Airport Extreme with gigabit ethernet or a new iPod Nano (fatty.)

iPhone 8GB now $399

If there isn't some kind of refund I'm going to be SOOOOOO pissed. They just cut the price by 1/3 after only 2 months!!

Engadget and MacNN are both reporting about users being upset. In the past Apple has offered credit...good enough for me! I just want them to set it right.

People are pissed and Apple is deleting posts on it's discussion boards! This is not cool Apple. Get it together. PROOF

Just posting a link. Go look!! All images from Engadget.com << Great work guys!

We have new iPod Shuffles, new iPod Nanos (the fatty), new iPod Classic, and brand new is the iPod Touch. The iPod Touch is basically an iPhone sans phone. 'Eh, but it's cool it has the WiFi iTunes Music Store and that it has Safari. Mail would be nice, but webmail will be good enough.

Check out Apple.com soon and Engadget for more details!

Do You Remember Your First Experience with the Internet?

The Home Of ob81 - Do You Remember Your First Experience with the Internet?

Wow, so this got me thinking. I DO remember the first time I saw the internet. It was a LONG time ago in 1994... before AOL took over. I was working on a project for elementary school and my mom was getting her Master's Degree and had just been introduced to this amazing new message-board system and digital database system. Blew my mind. I wasn't going to touch the internet for another 2-3 years in my home until AOL came around, but I do remember sitting in the university library looking at black and white text looking for information about whales!

New iPod Nano?

broken flicker: "Alot of talk have been roaming the corners of the Ipod communities lately. Mostly regarding some suspicious Widescreen Ipod nano photos posted on Gizmodo, Engadget and other bigger gadget and consumer electronics sites. The 5th of september apple is having a major apple event and many fans/sources assume that this new Ipod breed will be making its appearance this day. My question is - Is this the Ipod we will be seeing on Wednesday?"
