Don't forget to send an SMS tonight!

Texting delays a given on New Years, celebrate accordingly - Engadget:
"Verizon seems more excited about the prospect, expecting the 284 million text messages sent last year on its network between 12pm New Years Eve and 4am New Years Day to rise to 300 million. Telstra expects to process more than 53 million messages across Australia, and will have a 'small army' of techs on hand to monitor network performance. Canadians are expected to send 50 million texts this year, according to Virgin Mobile Canada, with the average canadian sending two text messages each -- double that of last year."

DHS f*cking up Wikipedia

Now this could be a single person acting like an idiot, but it's interesting they are doing it from a DHS computer.

Jessica Simpson’s New Movie Grossed $384 on Friday!

Blonde Ambition averaged $48 per screen on Friday for a total box office of $384. Based on an $8 ticket price, that means that 6 people paid to see the movie at each of those theatres, and only 48 people went to see the movie! That’s amazing! One of the worst performances a movie has ever had.

Why all Vista users should upgrade to Windows XP

Don Reisinger's take on the tech closest to home - CNET Blogs

Good points on Windows Vista and why it's a bad deal. I'm not one to encourage anyone to the PC front, but if you have to use a PC or are too scared (more likely) to buy a Mac then read this. Please don't buy Vista...you'll just want to throw your new machine out the Window.

"Honestly, I must congratulate Microsoft on a job well done. Sure, it has lost its focus, gutted its new operating system just to get it out the door, buckled under the pressure of computer manufacturers who hate its new OS and created a ludicrous version scheme that does nothing but confuse people, but it has done something right: it has created a stellar upgrade to Windows Vista.

Save your money -- install SP3 and forget about Vista."

Apple Rumor Site to Shut Down in Settlement - New York Times

Apple Rumor Site to Shut Down in Settlement - New York Times

This is major news for online journalists and especially Apple fans. It's a great backer for online journalists and bloggers. Their words are protected by the first amendment and the protections therein. Though, it's a sad day for Apple fans who frequented the site. Nick Ciarelli did a great job publishing the site and I hope he made away well set to start a new project. I wish him the best of luck.

MacNN | iPhone trumping Windows Mobile ownership

MacNN | iPhone trumping Windows Mobile ownership

This is a bit of a surprise. Windows Mobile, formerly Windows CE, has been around for YEARS! I remember playing with Windows CE devices when I was just a freshman in high school. They were novel I guess...

Anyways, it seems that in less than a year iPhone ownership has already surpassed that of Windows Mobile. Now it's just a matter of time before OS X defeats Windows. HAHA!

Let's hope this is true! We could see a new MacBook Pro at MacWorld. It'd be faster, cooler (temperature) and have better battery life at the same price - so says the article.

Kane & Lynch website lies about score

GameBump - Official Kane & Lynch Website LIES About Its Scores

So the video game scene has been all up in arms lately. It seems that the advertisers got a little upset when their game only did so-so and they blew their wad on the marketing. One editor even lost his job allegedly for scoring the game lower than the ad people wanted.

Anyways, here's a shot of the "Kane & Lynch" website vs. the ACTUAL site's review. 3 starts does not equal 5 stars. That's like saying "Shrek the Third" was as good as "The Godfather."
