AOL One Step Behind Again: New Home Page Identical To Yahoo

AOL One Step Behind Again: New Home Page Identical To Yahoo

Go figure...AOL straight copies Yahoo's homepage. Poor AOL. Does ANYONE use their services anymore? Less AIM, they have nothing to offer anymore. Techcrunch.com posted a quick side-by-side comparison, check it out.

301 Useless Facts | Single Grain

301 Useless Facts | Single Grain

Lots of great conversation starters. Then again, knowing that the human heart creates enough pressure in the bloodstream to squirt blood 30 feet (#209) might turn people off.

Try these for better results:

9. The Declaration of Independence was written on hemp (marijuana) paper.
79. It takes more calories to eat a piece of celery than the celery has in it to begin with.
187. Donkeys kill more people than plane crashes.
256. In “Silence of the Lambs”, Hannibal Lector (Anthony Hopkins) never blinks.

BBC NEWS | UK | England | London | Man cuts off penis in restaurant

BBC NEWS | UK | England | London | Man cuts off penis in restaurant

I don't need to write anything here. I'll just copy a bit:

A man cut off his penis with a knife in a packed London restaurant.

Police were forced to use CS gas to restrain the man when they entered the Zizzi restaurant in The Strand on Sunday evening.

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said the man was aged between 30 and 40 and that his injuries were self-inflicted.

The man was then taken to hospital in south London where his condition is stable. It is understood surgeons were unable to reattach his penis.

Toyota Tops G.M. in Sales for First Time - New York Times

Well that didn't take long. It was projected that sometime this year Toyota would take over GM as the world's largest car manufacturer. Looks like they'll have that claim by the end of the year easily if they keep up this pace. Good for them.

Apple CEO, design chief up for TIME 100

Vote here for TIME 100

Apple CEO Steve Jobs and the man behind the design of the iMacs, iPods and other Apple beauties like the iPhone, Jonathan Ive, are both up for the Time 100. Not mentioned in the article, but someone that I care about also on the list is Nintendo's legendary game designer - guy behind Mairo, Kong Kong, Yoshi, hell anything cool Nintendo - Shigeru Miyamoto.

OpenDNS.com ROCKS!

FINALLY! After two plus months of dealing with Midco and their "not DNS" problem that I said was a DNS problem...turns out it's a DNS problem. So just to brag, I was right. Now credit where it is due: users on Apple's support discussions. After posting and explaining my issue in both the server and client sections of the support discussions it only took a short while to get a reader to recommend using the servers 208.67.222.22 and 208.67.220.220. Well like a light switch in dark room the problem was fixed. I've now configured my routers at home and school to use OpenDNS.com's servers and it feels much snappier than before. I still only get an 8bmit connection, but when I click a link it almost instantly starts drawing the page. Woo Hoo!
