OpenDNS.com ROCKS!
FINALLY! After two plus months of dealing with Midco and their "not DNS" problem that I said was a DNS problem...turns out it's a DNS problem. So just to brag, I was right. Now credit where it is due: users on Apple's support discussions. After posting and explaining my issue in both the server and client sections of the support discussions it only took a short while to get a reader to recommend using the servers 208.67.222.22 and 208.67.220.220. Well like a light switch in dark room the problem was fixed. I've now configured my routers at home and school to use OpenDNS.com's servers and it feels much snappier than before. I still only get an 8bmit connection, but when I click a link it almost instantly starts drawing the page. Woo Hoo!
